Rev & Telstar rejoin the Center Line range

In 1970 Center Line wheels was founded by visionary Ray Lipper in California, the heartland of hot rod and drag culture. Center Line Wheels quickly gained a reputation for producing wheels of unparalleled quality and distinctiveness. The designs were revolutionary, featuring sleek lines, bold contours, and advanced materials that set them apart from anything else on the market.

Center Line were innovators with their manufacturing process, where hydraullic presses with one million pounds of pressure would forge 6061 aluminium to create the inner and outer componets to form the unique two piece construction. You can read more about the manufacturing process HERE . The Auto Drag, Convo Pro and Pro Stock went on to became top selling wheels adored and envied by muscle car owners across the globe.

2019 marked the relauch of Center Line, and the release of the Convo Pro 2.0 and Auto Drag 2.0. Both wheels were completely re-engineered making the two piece forged wheels better suited for the street, whilst keeping their lightweight strip DNA. The 2.0 wheels pass all world testing standards including DOT, SAE and JWL, and it has been awesome to see us Aussie embrace these iconic wheels, reasserting them as coverted wheels for Aussie and Yank muscle cars. The Rev 2.0 offers unique styling with its broad 5 spoke design, that becomes the template for the 5 modular circlular cut outs and the fully functioning rivets that bolt the inner and outer pieces together.

The Telstar 2.0 brings classic muscle car style with its contoured flat 5 spoke design and metal rivets that will give a super sport look to your car. Both wheel have the iconic Center Line embossing on the face of the wheel, so you know you are getting the real thing.

The Rev 2.0 and Telstar 2.0 are available in 15x7 and 15x8 in 5/114.3 bolt pattern to fit early Ford Falcons and Mustangs and 5/120.65 to bolt straight onto a Holden HQ-WB and early Chev Camaro. Did you know that Canterbury Tyre & Mag Supamart has been in business for over 33 years?

In this time we have fitted out tens of thousands muscle & classic cars, 4x4's, performance and luxury vehicles, so we thought what better way to celebrate our customers, and their rides, than with a car show to bring them all together for an afternoon of cars, coffee and conversations @ Canterbury Tyre & Mag Supamart.

We have partnered up with Mr Excited ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/243446516007480/ ) a local legend of his own right, who has become an icon of the Melbourne car show scene to pull together a cool afternoon of like minded car owners, both new and old mates of Canterbury Tyre & Mag Supamart.

For those of you who have visited our store would know we have a massive facility to park a lot of cars, and Mr Excited has organized food and coffee trucks to take car of the afternoon munchies, along with a talented musician who will be belting out some tunes.

We will have the shop open until 5pm to give all the interested punters a chance to view our massive range of wheels and tyres, including Center Line, Cragar and CTM Muscle, along with our classic and muscle car tyre range including whitewalls, raised white letting and red lines.

TPMS helps provide stability to the vehicle, maximise fuel efficiency, and reduce uneven tyre wear. In the event you have a flat tyre it will alert you.

Many new vehicles now come factory fitted with TPMS systems, and if your car doesn't have a factory fitted TPMS system, there is a huge aftermarket of TPMS systems that can be installed after the fact.

For TPMS to work, each tyre has a sensor installed on the rim, that communicates the status of the tyres pressure. Basic TPMS systems will trigger a warning light if a tyre pressure has dropped, where as more sophisticated systems provide real time tyre pressure readings to the driver.

WHAT ARE THE CONSIDERATIONS WHEN CHANGING THE WHEELS ON YOUR TPMS FITTED VEHICLE?

Upgrading to a new set of wheels: You have just purchased a new car and the first order of business is to put on a new set of wheels. If you are switching to a new set of wheels and wont be hanging onto the old wheels the standard practice is to transfer the sensors from your existing wheels to your new set of wheels. The sensors are delicate and their location on the inner valve means they need to be handled with extreme care to prevent damage in the process. Once the physical sensor is changed and the new wheels are fitted to the vehicle, the TPMS system should reactivate.
Purchasing a second set of wheels & tyres : Many 4x4 owners often buy a second set of wheels and tyres for bush and outback adventures which means they alternate between two sets of wheels and tyres. In this scenario, a second set of sensors needs to be purchased and installed to provide constant TPMS regardless of which set of wheels and tyres are fitted to the vehicle. The job isn't done just by installing new sensors, as the sensors need to be calibrated and programmed to communicate with the cars TPMS receiver unit. This requires experienced techincians and specialised equipment.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I CHANGE MY TYRES, BUT NOT MY RIMS?

In most cases changing your tyres shouldn't have any impact on your TPMS system provding the sensors haven't been damaged in the process. Every system is different, and sometimes a warning light will need to be reset once the new tyres and wheels and installed back on the vehicle.

If you have had a flat tyre and driven on it for an extended period, the sensor needs to be tested to ensure it hasn't been damaged. If the sensor has been damaged, then a new sensor will need to be installed, calibrated and programmed with the car.
